The Association of Somaliland Community in Australia joins the people of Somaliland in mourning the passing of His Excellency Ahmed Mohamed Mohamoud "Silaanyo," the 4th President of Somaliland. We extend our deepest sympathies to his family, friends, and all those who cherished and admired his leadership.

President Silaanyo was not only a statesman but also a revolutionary figure whose contributions to Somaliland's history are immeasurable. As a founding member of the Somali National Movement (SNM), he played a pivotal role in the liberation of Somaliland from the oppressive regime. His courage, resilience, and determination laid the foundation for the peace and stability that Somaliland enjoys today.

During his presidency, President Silaanyo prioritized nation-building, fostering democracy, and pursuing economic development. His tireless efforts in advocating for Somaliland's recognition on the global stage have left a lasting legacy for future generations to build upon.
